New Year Resolutions

A new year is upon us, which means New Year Resolutions. I have to admit that I've never made a New Year's Resolution before. Never gave it much thought. But I've been thinking a lot about how I live my life to a day to day basis and I know there are a few things that I am just not happy with. So this year I will resolve to change them. My big 5 are:

1) Get organized! I can keep my home clean and picked up.....as long as you don't open any closet doors, drawers, or cabinets. My Goodness it's surprising how much junk can collect when it's out of site out of mind.

2) Eat healthy. I'm a horrible role model for my kids. I hate to eat my veggies (and fruit, and dairy) I'm so much of a picky eater and it's rubbing off. I don't even eat breakfast! I need to eat healthy to be healthy, and also set a good example for my kids.

3) Menu plan. This goes with #1 & 2 as well. To many nights when dinner time rolls around I'm clueless on what to make. I need to plan at least a weeks worth of healthy meals at a time and make sure my pantry is stocked.

4) Put money into my (or my kids) savings account. I know how to cut corners to save a buck, but it never manages to be put in a safe place before it's spent. I would like to have a dollar amount goal to save ever month. Not sure what that amount will be yet.

and 5) Reduce stress! Who shouldn't have this as a goal? Hopefully by eating healthy and being more organized, my stress will be less. But I would like to learn some breathing techniques and maybe start taking yoga.

Those are my goals for 2009. I'll keep updates on how I do, wish me luck!
